As some of you may know, I purchased an e-bay Samantha to give to my daughter for her upcoming birthday. Of course I plan to clean her vinyl with baking soda, but I am torn about washing her hair as it is in excellent condition. Here are my questions:
1. Do you always wash dolls' hair if it is not a new doll from the company?
2. Will I need to re-curl Samantha's hair after washing?
Thanks!!

I have washed four of my doll's hair. Samantha2 really needed the washing with conditioning shampoo, as her hair was one tangled MAT!!! Josefina's ahir really tangled when I brushed her hair, so she got a conditioner wash too! and that has helped!!! alot!!! Lastly, Kit got a wash as when she returned from her Travels, she needed a wash and bath badly! Also, I have washed Katie's (fake Kit) hair as it reaked!! trust me on the reaking!

If the hair does not smell, or does is not knotty, then I would not bother. The washing is your decision. It is not going to damage the hair. Get a wig shampoo and wash it when needed.

Thanks Ria! I value your opinion (as we all do), and I'd rather not wash Sam's hair as it looks beautiful and does not smell at all.

Then you made the right choice! I would not wash any of the AG's hair if they had no porblems or smells on them.
But poor Katie, she still has a smell a little bad...

Goodness, I know she is a fake, but I wonder why her hair smelled so bad?

Sam's hair will retain curls after washing, but if you want to give them some "oomph" , wait until her hair dries, spritz with water and roll with small soft foam rollers following the original curl about halfway up her head. Spritz periodically throughout the day, leaving her to dry overnight. Unroll the rollers, gently comb the curls out with your fingers and fluff them up and they will be good as new!
